Grand Opening — Providence Canadian Reformed Church

8 November 2010 by Wes Bredenhof

Saturday was a big day for our congregation:  the grand opening of our new building.  The weather was fantastic, the fellowship warm, and the gratitude tangible.  Below are some pictures.

Here’s a good exterior shot of the building, along with our new sign.  See the steeple?  It has a bell; yes, a working bell!  Thanks to our younger brothers and sisters, the bell was ringing the whole afternoon.  I think we may be the only Canadian Reformed Church with a working bell.

Big crowd of young and old, visitors and members!  Look at the blue sky.  It was a bit cool, but we couldn’t have asked for better weather in November.

Looks like a church picnic — in November.  We enjoyed barbequed chicken and other delicious treats.

Newly re-elected Ward 8 councillor Terry Whitehead represented the city of Hamilton.

As the senior member present, Rev. G. Wieske had the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially open the building.

“On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”  Genesis 22:14

  1. Very nice! Congratulations.

  2. Congratulations! May the Lord’s Church in Hamilton be
a light and a Beacon (or shall I say… a sweet sounding bell)

  3. Congratulation! It must have been such a wonderful day of thanksgiving! One day, if God permits, we shall have a nice place like that – and a full house like that as well! 🙂
