This past week, I shared the following links on social media and I think they’re worth sharing here too:

On The Role Of Women In The Church

Steve Baugh approaches this issue in a uniquely helpful way: “Hence, as a starting point, one should say that a woman can do anything in the church that a non-ordained man can do. There is no principled basis for saying otherwise. We must apply this principle with wisdom, but that is the starting point nevertheless.”

Brian Houston Resigns from Hillsong

What stood out to me in this story was this: “Irrespective of the circumstances around this, we can all agree that Brian and Bobbie have served God faithfully over many decades and that their ministry has resulted in millions of people across the world being impacted by the power, grace, and love of Jesus Christ.” Uh, no. Prosperity gospel preachers like Brian and Bobbie Houston are not faithful servants of God, but wolves in sheep’s clothing. Make no mistake: when office bearers in Reformed churches act the same (even while preaching otherwise), they’re the same.

Are Christians Totally Depraved?

Nick Batzig has a solid, biblical answer. It’s an answer that shouldn’t be surprising to Reformed Christians brought up learning Lord’s Day 3 of the Heidelberg Catechism. Regeneration makes a difference!

The Assurance of Psalm 16

Pastor Sergei Nakul from the Evangelical Reformed Church continues to keep us updated on the situation in Kyiv. This shopping mall came under attack from Russian bombardment this past week. While it seems that the situation around Kyiv is increasingly favourable to Ukrainian forces, it’s still a dire situation elsewhere in the country. Let’s continue to pray for an end to this senseless bloodshed.
