Health Update
Some of you may be aware, but others not, so I thought I would share what has been going on with my health.
Last week, I finally had my appointment with a neurologist. After reviewing my symptoms and further testing, he gave a confirmed clinical diagnosis of Lewy body dementia (learn more about this disease here). As a result, I will not be returning to active ministry. That saddens me, since I’ve always loved preaching the gospel and serving God’s people. However, this is the path wisely appointed by my loving Father and I humbly accept it. And perhaps there will be other opportunities to continue to be useful in the cause of the Son of God.
My faith in God’s goodness remains strong. I look at the cross of Christ and I know he loves me and can bring good from suffering. He will in this instance too, I’m confident.
What does all this mean for my online presence? Last week I shut down all my social media. This website/blog is going to remain active for now. I still have a backlog of old material to post. Any new material will get vetted by my editorial board (i.e. wife and kids) before appearing here. In due time, I also hope to share announcements about new books. There are a few written and just waiting to be published.
Please pray for me and my wife and family. We have been carried on the prayers of God’s people up till now, and we look forward to that continuing to be so. Thank you!
