Simonetta Carr’s Herman Bavinck Biography

18 February 2026 by Wes Bredenhof

I love promoting the work of other writers. One of my favourite authors is Simonetta Carr. She’s written numerous titles in her “Christian Biographies for Young Readers” series. I’ve written reviews of Athanasius and Lady Jane Grey. She’s recently published one on Herman Bavinck and it’s worth checking out. I was pleased to write a blurb for the backcover:

Herman Bavinck was a towering figure in Dutch Reformed theology whose insights continue to shape the church today. In this beautifully written and illustrated volume, Simonetta Carr introduces young readers to Bavinck’s life and legacy with clarity and warmth. Her engaging storytelling makes this an ideal gateway for the next generation to appreciate one of the great minds of the Reformed tradition.

Teachers will appreciate that it comes with printable worksheets and discussion questions.
