This past week, I shared the following links on social media and I think they’re worth sharing here too:
Kim Riddlebarger argues for a weekly celebration. As intimated in Aiming to Please, I agree with him. I’m thankful that our church now celebrates monthly — that’s getting closer to the ideal.
Shane Lems shares something insightful from Lundy Bancroft’s Why Does He Do That?
This one hits close to home. 3.5+ years in prison is a measure of justice on this earth. And also an act of love on the part of his victim — protecting others who might fall prey to Coleborn, as well as confronting him with the seriousness of his sin. If you can’t read the full story due to a paywall, this is about Christopher Coleborn, formerly a pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, a conservative Australian denomination with whom the Free Reformed Churches have been having ecumenical discussions. He pled guilty to sexual abuse and was sentenced yesterday (Friday Nov. 10/23) for up to three years and eight months in prison.
FROM THE VAULT
With today being Remembrance Day, let me share something my Opa wrote a few years ago:
